Here is the Medal "Fight Against Bandits". This was awarded to members of the "Lucha Contra Bandidos" (Fight Against Bandits) that was an anti-insurgency force that was actively engaged in capturing or destroying all government opposition between 1959 and 1st October 1966. The rebels were primarily those who have served the old regime and dissident rural workers. The "Lucha Contra Bandidos" were ordered to sweep the countryside "elbow to elbow" to ensure no opposition was missed.

An extremely successful campaign for the government.

Figures of the numbers of participants and losses of either side are impossible at this time.
