DDR pilot - kosher?

A friend asked me if this is kosher and if so, what it's worth. He's selling it and the proceeds go to a local boy scout troop. Thoughts?

The ribbon bar and the graduation badge are for a police officer, and the Sportsabzeichen is in the wrong place. And the tunic is not piped. Strange indeed and I´d say it´s kosher.:thumbsdown

Is the jacket airforce at all? Looks more like a justice or transportation police tunic with avia insignia.

I have literally no idea as to DDR stuff -- it could be a busboy uniform for all I know. DDR isn't my thing. I've picked up about a dozen DDR tunics in my day, but all for like $5 a piece at gunshows and flea markets.

So I presume this is a sum-of-the-parts item? $20 maybe?

I picked up the same type of early qualifikationsspange (class II) for 15 EUR two weeks ago, and yes - it is expensive talking east german badges :)

A-ha. I'll have to have the guy scan the badge. I've seen them at shows and couldn't tell good from bad. I guess I'll have to poke around the forum here and see if there's some guidance. Thanks. :thumbsup

It's kosher, well AFAIK the tunic is. The base tunic is a Transport Police service tunic, but with air force collar tabs and shoulder boards, it becomes helicopter Police, which would explain the police graduation badge and ribbon bar. I'm not sure if helicopter pilots had a different badge, and the sports badge with the DDR on it goes on the wearer's right chest pocket.
