Early Red Army Uniforms and Headgear
#1
Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but have been collecting Soviet uniforms and headgear for about 2 years. I am very interested in early Civil War and 20's-30's material, but there just doesnt seem to be much out there on the market. From time to time, one runs across a dealer who has some early pullovers, button-up "kitel" style jackets and early caps for sale.

I guess my question is this; How much faking of early Soviet uniforms and headgear has been, or is currently going on?

Thanks for your time.

I have brought in alot of early items ( i.e. 1920's etc.) and have not found a big faking problem. The only exception would be in the green field hats of the teens and 20's; alot of those were copies that were aged by bad dealers. I would not worry about pullovers and such as being widley faked.
