At least the seller says
"Please be attentive !!! All the medals and orders in the lot are REPLICAS !!!" But the start price is more than $300.... Seller is tanyafliger/benjamin101151 from Ukraine. Keep that in mind when looking for stuff later

This finished selling this evening at 9:04.
#596474 It was listed with photo but to me the photo only shows a 1985 OPGW 1st and the number only goes to confirm it. Is there any reason that I missed for why someone would pay $102.50 for this? Are prices skyrocketing? Either I am losing it or someone got suckered. jefflgarrison Wrote:Either I am losing it or someone got suckered. With such crappy photos I'm surprised it went for more than 30 bucks. You're not losing it, there's something fishy about that sale. Not the Order, the sale.

Agreed. I paid US$15 for a 1985 OPW 1cl on eBay just a few weeks ago. Something strange is definately going on here...

Well, the buyer must have entered a high bid by accident, and the seller shilled it up to that price and ended the auction to prevent retraction?

Checking the winning bidder's history it looks like they got more money than brains. But why other people (who I don't reognize as regular eBay Soviet bidders) bid so much is still a mystery.

I emailed someone listing a OPGW on eB?y to explain that the medal he was listing for $89.99 was not a 1st class OPGW but a second class 1945 issue.
My initial message posted from the entry page (photos 1 and 2):
First you are off on your description. Since they only issued less than 290,000 1st class order, your doesn't fall in that range. Actually, your order is a Type 6: version 1 from 1945. But I must say, you need to be realistic on your prices if you want to sell them. No one is going to pay $189.00 for a 1985 issue medal.
Ok my mistake for the last line. But really, if he wants to sell them he should be. Here was his response:
Where the **** you come up with $189.00 ??? They are $89.00, I have collected these orders for years don`t tell me what they are. Idiot!
Oh, that didn't sit well with me. Therefore I responded by posting from the entry that was listed for $189.99 (photos 3 and 4):
This is the one you have for sale at $189.99 The number on the back, according to your photo, is #4.362.366. Since the Soviet government only gave out no more than 2.6 million of THESE 1985 issue OPGW medals, this puts your order in the 2nd class group. High in that group as well. These you can pick up on eBay for $20-$30 a pop. However, you seem fit to be beligerent and show your "intelligence". Call me an idiot when it is you that has a $20 medal listed for $189.99. Forget you.
His lovely response to that was:
WELL, IF THERE IS ONE LISTED FOR 189 IT IS A MISTAKE ASSHOLE, I HAVE SOLD 7 OF THESE ORDERS ALREADY AND THEY PAID 89 FOR THEM I GUESS YOU SHOULD MIND YOUR OWN BUSINNESS AND **** OFF AGAIN!
How do I get myself into these situations. DAMN my desire to help people!!!!!
