An absolutely "unreal" item. The numbering would look to be more a cataloguing than anything else had it not been impressed into the metal.

Completely agree. I wanted to get this on the forum for others to see. It isn't the first time I've seen the 'black number' on a Soviet medal but there is little, to no information, on the 'net regarding these black serial number its. Thanks again for all the help!
