Were you able to establish that this badge is legit and not a fantasy piece?

I saw it on eBay. the asking price was too high for me to fool with.
The seller is a member of this forum but hasn't been seen in years! Rusty.

Could i get an opinion please. I believe these badges were made in the 80's and out of aluminium, but this one just looks "cheaply" made. Thanks

Danny,
Both badges are genuine. The KGB is made of aluminum, Border is brass. Alexei

OK thanks Alexei. I just found the quality not up to par with what I am used to seeing especially for the amount of money these badges sell for.

Danny,
Some local KGB badges are very cheap, especially the 50th anniversary of the Ukraine KGB, but this border badge is real nice. Alexei
