Comrade N.I. Podkladov is an ammunition carrier for 76 mm guns of the regimental battery. During the fighting for the northern suburbs of the city of Voronezh from September 16 to 20 of this year he showed himself a brave and courageous defender of the socialist motherland.

The artillery piece carried out the complicated and responsible task to destroy enemy firing positions, which were hindering our infantry, from open positions using direct lay. The gun crew successfully accomplished this task. During the days of fighting significant damage was inflicted upon enemy fortifications, materiel and troops.

Under heavy fire, which the enemy had opened at the battery they had discovered, comrade Podkladov fearlessly provided his gun with new rounds. Comrade Podkladov didn’t think about the danger for even a second, but fearlessly carried out the task he was charged with and inspired the gun crew to conduct heroic feats.

A disciplined and self-possessed Private and virtuous son of the socialist motherland, comrade Podkladov deserves an award.

Eventually, N. I. Podkladov went Missing In Action in July or August 1943. Likely in the Kursk Salient where the 60th Army was at that time.
