As a result of one engagement an enemy escort vessel was damaged and the others fled. In fighting for Sevastopol, the most important base of the Black Sea Fleet, against an enemy several times numerically superior (3 versus 15) Comrade Mileiko poured continuous machinegun fire against enemy craft. In one engagement a high-speed landing barge and escort ship were destroyed and an escort ship damaged.
