In my opinion, the helmet seems legitimate to me as an SSH39 with an "original when first issued" 1st type of liner.

The only questionable attribute is the star. However, the helmet seems so "crusty" and untouched, that it well may just be OK, as many soldiers applied their own stars at times according to taste...

I do not own an Army version of one of these with the 1st pattern liner, but an associate does:
