Right is probably militsia, or police.

Left one is also militia, for parade uniform. Right one is not for major, the large star is wrong. The rank is at sergeant-level.

1. Militia junior lieutenant for parade dress uniform
2. Militia sergeant - major for everyday dress uniform

Thanks Paul, Tretov and Vvadim! :thumbsup

I've had those in a box together with many other boards, but I had never been able to identify what they were for.

So to fix the sergeant major, I should remove the star. What about the Soviet Union
Coat of Arms? I assume this doesn't belong there either?

Too bad someone wanted to "improve" the boards, but ended up messing with them and making unneeded holes.

Hi,

This is sort of related...I have this uniform button dated 1954 and it has 8 ribbons on the right side, 8 ribbons on the left side and one ribbon in the middle/bottom. That makes 17 ribbons. Any thoughts?
