Largest Award Group?

It comprises of 161 items with about 155 of them being awards with an additional 9 awards to their spouse. Someone who "came onto the scene" in 1953 and hit a peak 1961-1964 and continued but not at such a high level.
I know they have many high level awards (such as a Soviet title) that I'll probably never get my hands on but you never know?

It may even be the case that these 155ish awards are not even half of their award group. Research is ongoing.

I believe you said this fellow was a sportsman. So how many of these are government awards and how many are sports items? And how many of both types are documented?

There is everything under the sun. I will present everything in the not too distant future. Waiting to hear back from some Organisations as to what they have in their records. I don't think I'm going to have too much fun scanning everything in!

The research may even result in video which will only be the third time I've been able to find video support for a group.

Pending full presentation, approximately how many of these are official government orders and medals?

Nothing "State". No doubt these will still be in the hands of the living recipient. Investigations still pending.

Most sports players are decorated more by localised organisations and then national/international sporting bodies when they make it big. This group features items from the Soviet Union, RSFSR, GSSR, ESSR, Hungary, DDR and maybe more - it gets quite overwhelming looking through it.
