What is the criteria for getting a order of st. George as opposed to getting a order of courage? And does a Hero of the Russian Federation get state benefits and what not like hero's did in the soviet era?

Gents,
Two nice images of HRF Lt Col A. V. Lebed - the first with President Medvedev. Note his mix of Soviet and Russian Federation decorations. Other than being a VDV trooper, I can't add much more to his background. Regards, slava1stclass

Gents,
Awarded his HRF Gold Star (s/n 84) on July, 7th 1994 for his actions as a partisan in the GPW. Note his Partisan Medal and the fact that the Order of Lenin does not accompany the HRF title. Regards, slava1stclass

Really tragic. One of Russia's bigger than life heroes proved mortal after all. RIP.

It's not a way for such a man to go - that's the saddest thing to me about his death. He deserves a Viking funeral!
