First time that I see it - I didn't know about it, but Eugene will probably have some medals in his safe...

This medal is "Stalin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Nations", was awarded 1949-1956, then renamed to International Lenin prize, and in 1989-1991 Lenin Prize of Piece.

Pictures of the diploma accompanied to the Stalin peace prize.

Hewlett Johnson Papers - Stalin Prize

I can't resize the pictures - id someone can, please post them. It is the first time that I see them.

THANKS!

100,000 Rubles in the 1950's? Exchange rate of 1:1 with the US dollar I presume. Very nice cash prize.
Under the banner of Marxism-Leninism, under the leadership of the Communist Party--forward to new victories in the construction of communism!

Provided the Ruble was freely exchangeable, which was not the case...
