CtahhR,
There were such decrees on a very regular basis and I can post many (just have to go through the newspapers). Do you want just the decrees to groups of people or also the single awardings?

[CtahhR]

As much as possible. Overnight I have obtained several hundred that I will be posting soon.

I'm in favor of anything and everything. So far in collecting I've found that when I don't keep full records I'll eventually end up regretting it. On the other hand, it is a ton of work!

Whatever is decided there, I'd like to make two more suggestions. First, how about listing the decrees in the standard Russian "Day.Month.Year" format and just separate each year. Also, how about adding the decree number (if present) as well as some sort of source citation. For instance, if you found the decree in a newspaper, write "newspaper name" + the date in ( ) or [ ]. Example:

1944

0X.0X.1944 #61 - Awarding Ivan Ivanov for designing a tank (Pravda, 0X.0X.1944)
0X.0X.1944 #68 - Awarding Collective Farm 3 for a good harvest (Gazette of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, 0X.0X.1944)

1945

0X.0X.1945 #7 - Awarding Comrade Ogilvy for designing a hand grenade for the Ministry of Peace (1984, George Orwell, chapter 4)

What do you think?

Cheers,
Alex

When I've done the update for last night and today's finds then maybe any suggestions on format can be addressed. Although it will be up to whoever suggests the format to convert and maintain all additional entries as I am sure we all have our own personal systems.

That would make sense. But only the contributor is going to be able to give the source.

I agree this task will be a huge amount of work. As RedMaestro mentioned, it would be good to have as much details as possible including the awards bestowed, date, how many, for what, etc.. and a standard format would help considerably.

Call yourself a Yorkshireman!

There are a few Military decrees slipping into the list but I certainly don't think it will detract from the labour awards. It also shows that some days had separate decrees for both Military and Labour activity. The decree awarded Red Army Orders and Medals are of a somewhat different nature to those awarded "in the field".

I alternate the spellings to be fair to our overseas comrades, of course!

From now on they will be called medals for " 'ard graft"
