I still have no access to m74 regs, but in 88 they say nothing about it and show no pictures of generals or officers with it, however in par. 152(page 64) they say, that in the Soviet Army daggers are to be worn under a special order during parades in Moscow, Leningrad, republic capitals and hero cities.
So - they existed, but were rarely used.
But they don't say what it should look like.
So I was wrong, since basically only Navy officers had daggers.
