He has a Brezhnev-like fondness for pretty things to decorate himself with.
Yeah, there's probably an American Volunteer Reserve Medal of Honor and AVR Silver Star...
I mean I got some of the same medals...but I served 28 years in the real US Air Force to get them. Kind of pisses me off to see people who do this. Pathetic for them...but still off-pissing.
Exactly my point, oh and by the way, according to the Stolen Valor Act of 2005, it is a federal misdemeanor. Write this organization and ask them to look into this person.
BTW I forgot slava1stclass - thanks for the on-line research on this guy.
Here's the reply I got:
Dear Sir:
Mr. Leznik is mot wearing U S. military decorations. The LOM he wears is that of the American Volunteer Reserve. The white borders of the AVR ribbon are 1/4 inch wide as opposed to 1/16 inch wide for U. S. military LOM. The u. S Army Commendation Medal has 4 vertical center lines equally spaced whereas the AVR medal has 2 vertical center lines then an open space followed by 2 more vertical lines.
Our manufacture assured us that the differences incorporated in the design of our awards was sufficient to avoid legal trangression.
That Hero star looks genuine enough though, and almost everything else does.
So who is he actually?
Is he really in the army reserves and what is this company or business or charity?
No, he is not in the army reserves, but in some civilian, military-"esque" public service organization. I'm guessing like "Shriners" with medals-that-look-like-real-military-but-aren't-quite-upon-close-examination .

Could that mean, in any chance, that he´s been decorated with an AVR Hero Star and AVR Order of Lenin?
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight The Who, Won't get fooled again

If I may suggest; the Order of Sanpellegrino, Ist class without swords, on pentagonal hanger (late issue)... it is guaranteed home made and can not be mistaken for any other award, for sure.
