Order "Labour Glory".

Collecting the awards of a country that has not experienced fakes has its benefits: One can find varieties without suspecting them as fraud.

Here are two versions of the Order of Labor Glory, 1st Class. I believe one version is coined, the other one cast. The coined version is commonly seen. The cast version might have been considered for future use to reduce cost when the coined lot had been exhausted. I have the coined version with the late small suspension and the cast version with the old large ribbon. When the Peoples Republic ended in some chaos and many stored awards were raided, orders came into circulation that had not been awarded.

Petko Pavlov's book (2002 edition, the McDaniel of Bulgaria) on Bulgarian Orders and Medals does not show the cast version of the Labor Glory while it pictures varieties of many other orders.

The Bulgarian Order "Labour Glory" was founded only 4 months 10 days after the Soviet counterpart on 28th May 1974 and was awarded with the same sort of criteria. This was the period that Bulgaria was attempting to become a full republic of the Soviet Union and not just an ally.

Here is the 1st Class Type 1 (Large kolodka).

It's been a while since any prototypes have been posted.

Here is a prototype 1st Class with a different design. The final design echoed the Soviet version more closely.
