This medal (early type) was sold today on ebay for US $281.00 . Unfortunatly the document is (I believe) not related to the prize, but to other medal, which I bought for a mere 9.00 USD...
Under the banner of Marxism-Leninism, under the leadership of the Communist Party--forward to new victories in the construction of communism!

$281.00 for a Stolph medal!!!??? I realize it's a 1st variant, but that's very high for this award. For that amount of money you could just about get a 1st Class (gold) VVO... that is unless the value of DDR awards has, like Soviet and Mongolian, taken a big jump in price.

You're right - the document is unrelated. 1st variation award carry a premium, but I didn't expect that much.
