They certainly will be taken. As by whom and to where is unknown.

Yesterday, when I watched the news, I saw this veteran being awarded Order of Kim Jong Il.

Then he mounted it on a KPA flag...

Watch from 3:05, and be amazed!

Gabriel,

It looks to me that the awardee was not the "veteran" but the unit (the "veteran" is most likely this unit commander). The new award then joined the ones that this unit had previously won.

Thank you very much for the info!

As a noob and living in a country which doesn't care about it's pride and honour within the armed forces, I haven't seen such a ceremony before...

Actually, that is quite common in most armed forces of the world: Soviet Union, France, North Korea, etc.

It all depends upon which eyes you look through.

Trust me, this kind doesn't exist in Norway.

The whole army here is terribly organized, and quite messed up...

Here, they barely get any awards, just small cheapy medals of struck silver. The highest ranked General barely has 7 awards, 5 of them are NATO medals which you can buy for 10 USD at the national version of epay...

Quite tragic this army is.
