Thank you Nack! That was my line of thought, after all, it was still someones bravery award.

I just got these from Paul S. I always wanted to add some to my collection. The first one is actually a Hand-Painted ribbon bar.
Here's # 2.
row 1: Order of the Red Star, Order of the Red star, Medal for Combat service Row2: Centenial of Lenin's Birth, Victory Over Germany, 20th Anniversary of Victory in the GPW Row3: Medal for 30th Anniversary of Victory in the GPW, Medal for Victory Over Japan, Veteran of Military Service Row 4: Anniversary of 30th,40th & 50th Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces Row 5: 60th & 70th Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces, Mongolian WW2 Victory Over Japan Medal Row 6: Mongolian 1975 Victory Jubilee, Mongolian 1971 army jubilee Row 7: Polish WW2 Victory and Freedom Medal. Thanks, Doc

Nice! I've been meaning to grab a bar or two just for the sake of having them.
Yours are particularly nice examples.

The order of precedence is wrong on the bar. If you go by the ribbon precedence in the statutes, it should go from left to right:
Red Banner of Labor Order of the Badge of Honor Medal for Valiant Labor Medal for Distinguished Labor Jubilee Medal for the 100th Anniversary of Lenin's Birth
It's a nice bar with corrections stated above. I've never seen the Lenin's Centenial worn on a 5-sided suspension. It is always to be worn seperately above the medal bar. Still a nice group:thumbsup
Best, Doc

I have also seen a single Centenial on a 5-sided suspension :yow Best regards Eddie

Eddie,
I guess that since the veterans earned them they can modify them any way they want. I've seen pictures of an U.S. veteran that converted all of his earned medals to a neck cravats and has them displayed that way.:yow It was a nice display but I don't agree with the conversion as they were never awarded as a collar mount.:nono Best, Doc

I would be grateful if someone could help identify the last ribbon on this nice bar that I picked up recently. It consists of an Order of Lenin, Red Banner, 2nd Class Order of Kutuzov, 2 Red Stars, Military Service Medal, Defense of Stalingrad Medal, etc. however I cannot ID the last one (purple with three red stripes) which I believe to be a communist bloc award.
Any ideas ?? Regards, Paul |
