You really shouldn't use Google Translate to change Latin into Cyrillic, Google often messes things up. Иван Михайлович Бовкун (Ivan Mikhailovich Bovkun) is somebody else . Have you read my latest post? I posted the link to what seems to be the right guy's Red Star (Иван Максимович Бовкунов). He is in the database.

Ok Auke maybe I shouldn't! Granted I'm no expert, but it was just a query. Yes I've seen your post (thanks). I'm investigating now.....

Google Translate is truly dire for transliteration. Some letters just don't show up at all.
http://Translit.cc is the site for transliteration. It also has a selection of alphabets.

Gents,
Kомандир башни т34.
Does this mean turret commander? Gun commander? Comander of a column of T34?
The literal translation of Башни seems to be "tower"
Cheers!

Turret is the word you're looking for.
Here is a diagram that should help.
командир танка (КТ) — в башне, на сиденье левее орудия, у приборов наводки;
механик-водитель (MB) — в отделении управления;
командир башни (КБ) (заряжающий) — в башне, на сиденье правее орудия;
радист-пулемётчик (РП) — в отделении управления, правее механика-водителя.

Here's one that's making things a bit tricky.
This accompanying document omits the recipient's name but does include his signature.
I'm thinking he could be a Kristo Dzhuriev. Certainly looks like Джуриев to me.
