Hi,
I have been perplexed over the issue of gold epaulets with black stripes and green piping (ie., they look like naval officer parade epaulets but with green piping). I have seen these advertised as Maritime Border Guard parade epaulets, but I thought that they wore standard Naval epaulets on their parade dress. I was leaning towards VOSO (Railway & Line of Communications troops) - because at first glance their piping appears more green. However, the reference work Voennaya Odezhda Vooruzhennikh Sil indicates that the piping color was actually a light/bright blue -- not green.
My question: Are these epaulets Maritime Frontier Guard or VOSO? Thanks in advance for everyone's help!
