Memorial Day

Hopefully I will not offend or anger anyone If I overlooked the appropriate section to post this in.

To All,

Today May 27 2013, we The United States of America, will celebrate and honor the servicemen living and dead that have honored our country with their service. Many families will celebrate this day with only memories of their loved ones. Others will celebrate with their living.

Whichever the case I want to take a moment and recognize every individual here and abroad, past and present, living and dead, for serving my country.

Without such selfless individuals, liberty and freedom... would only be words in a dictionary.

To all service personnel and NATO allies here and abroad...Thank you and Godspeed!

Thanks for your post and the sentiments contained.

I think anyone you would have offended has vociferously departed, or at least claimed to...

For me this Christmas photograph from the family archive is the graphic representation of the type of often forgotten victims we should be honouring.
There are generations of nameless servicemen and women too numerous to count that have fallen in combat, to wounds or to time. Each and every one of us will have a connection to their stories to some extent.

With "heightened" threat levels we should also have "heightened" awareness of everyone serving for the benefit of mankind.
