Fake Orders of Glory - Snameni - 08-17-2015 Gents ! I need your help...Can you give any advice??? I have an offer for a Full Glory Chevalier Group. This group is coming with the award booklet, 6 out of 7 numbered awards (OG I, OG II, OG III, ORS, OPW 1st Class, CSM, the ORB is missing) plus few more campaign and defense medals with the paperwork. The recipient of this group died in 1955 (just few days before his 30th birthday... ) thus there isn't a Full Glory Chevalier booklet with this group. The seller had sent me some pictures of this group and I have attach pictures of the OG I, OG II and the 2nd page from the award booklet. No picture of the OG III yet..As you can see the condition of both OG I and II are not very good.... too many dings...they both orders look as someone but them into a bucket full of coins and gave a very good shake.... Another one "dark" point is the serial number of the OG II... According to the award booklet is 19209 (same with the number of the OG II).. BUT ACCORDING TO Full Glory Chevaliers Recipients book this OG II is 12909... The seller will provide with a copy from the Archives in the next few days.. Can you please advice about the authenticity of those 2 orders? Does the value of OG I is significant lower because of its condition?? The price for this set is U$ 10,000.... but I think is too much for the condition of those awards.. The OPW1 and the ORS are in much better condition with all the enamel in place and with no restoration... the rest medals in average/below average condition... Any help/advice is deeply appreciated !! Thank you very much in advance for your help!!! All the very best!! Yannis Fake Orders of Glory - Snameni - 08-17-2015 OG II and Booklet page 2 Fake Orders of Glory - Eryk - 08-17-2015 An OG I is made of gold; the order displayed here as an OG I doesn't look like gold to me. Fake Orders of Glory - Snameni - 08-17-2015 I really do not know if this OG I is gold... I don't have it in my hands... and those pictures are what the seller sent... BUT I just find out the OG II # 19209 BELONGS to another Full Chevalier of Glory with the name ТРИБУНСКИЙ Николай Тарасович... Fake Orders of Glory - Kjetil Kvist - 08-17-2015 I don't like the color or the dings on the medals. But, more important: The book looks lite it been "corrected" to fit the group. Fake Orders of Glory - Snameni - 08-17-2015 You are right about that... I have the same feeling... the CSM has the first digit 8 "corrected" to 9.. the ORB looks in the same way... even the month has been "corrected"... Maybe the clerk in the unit was drunk... maybe somebody did a "correction" job somewhere down the line..... Fake Orders of Glory - slava1stclass - 08-17-2015 Snameni, While better images of the OGI would be preferable to render an airtight judgment (the blue background really distorts the true color), working off of the OGI images you provided, my sense is that it is good. The person to whom this OGI was awarded was indeed also awarded the ORB, OPWI, ORS and CSM. While the OGII serial number is incorrect as you noted, I can confirm that all the remaining serial numbers listed in the OK correspond to those awarded to the OGI winner. Suggest you defer any purchase decision until after you evaluate the originality of the group's remaining awards. Regards, slava1stclass Fake Orders of Glory - Snameni - 08-17-2015 Thank you very much for your comments and advice!! You do not think 2 Full Glory Chevaliers having the same OG2 is not a bit extraordinary? I think I have to wait until I have the results from the seller's research... because I want to check not only if the award numbers correspond with the awards in the booklet, but also the serial number of the booklet itself.. You see how many times have you see or hear about old blank award booklets fill out with correct or even incorrect entries?? If something new about this group turn up I iwll let you know as soon as possible!! Thank you very much for your time :) !! Much appreciated !!! I have no doubt the award serial numbers will match as I've previously confirmed. There are a couple of possible explanations for the OGII mismatch: 1) the correct s/n of 12,909 was mistakenly entered as 19,209 and his original OGII with s/n 12,909 has since gone missing or 2) the original OGII entry in the OK was altered to match the OGII offered with group - namely 19,209. The latter, if true, would indeed be quite the coincidence given this OGII was itself awarded to a different Full Cavalier. You are taking the correct approach. If the seller provides you with a copy of the original recipient's Award Record Card, his OK s/n should be listed on it.
