Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - ANZAC - 02-28-2009 I haven't handled many of these but this one seems ok. The ink, paper creases, and stamp seem ok. As I said I'm not an expert with these so i hope someoneelse chimes in. Brendan Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - desantnik - 02-28-2009 Doc looks good. Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - Lapa - 02-28-2009 Agreed, looks OK. Marc Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - rocketscientist - 02-28-2009 I am very happy to read that. Thank you guys for your time. I was a bit skeptical since all Caucasus awards I've seen so far were printed on pinkish or yellowish paper, while this one is still quite white in spite of its age. cheers sergio Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - rocketscientist - 05-16-2009 Hallo. Together with a Defense of Polar region medal, I have got this award which sounds very much suspicious to me. Inside, it looks very dirty and mistreatedm while outside the booklet seems very well preserved. May I have your opinions? Thank you sergio Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - desantnik - 05-16-2009 I would really like to examine this booklet in person. I'm afraid the fakers are getting better all the time. You are smart to be wary of such a dirty document with a pristine outside. For one, NOTHING is discernible on the unit stamp. Another red flag is the unit's numerical designation is not identified. I don't have any docs on hand to compare, but the illustration of the Arctic Medal itself just doesn't look right. It could just be the photo, but the printing on the cover looks irregular. Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - rocketscientist - 05-16-2009 Dulcis in fundo.... display the attached scans to full resolution. Definitely no luck with this type of medal...... cheers sergio Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - Nota Bene - 05-17-2009 Looks bad to me - poor quality print, fresh ink, artificial ageing, etc. I think the rubber stamp could be pre-printed. Alexei Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - UQWozza - 05-17-2009 Paul, Spot on with the comment on the depiction of the medal! On the examples I have the centre image is as crisp as the outer detail on the rim - on this example it certainly isn't. Simon Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents. - Nota Bene - 05-21-2009 I usually use the Soviet crest as a check point - if you can't see the letters, it's most likely bad. Alexei |
