Olympic Medals - ericlida - 11-11-2006
I think the medal is nicely done. :love
The description of the seller:
"This is a very beautiful and unique commemorative medal minted in memory of the 12 Israeli athletes tragically slain during the Summer Olympic Games held in Munich in 1972.
This large, handsome medal features the design of the Munich Winner Medal on the obverse, and the skyline of the Munich Olympic Park on the reverse. The inscription on the reverse is "Zum Gedenken - An Die Ermordeten Olympiateilnehmer", translated, "In Memory of the Slain Olympic Participants". S (Superb or mint) condition. Diameter - 80mm and thickness 4 mm. This medal has a hozel but did not originally come with any sort of ribbon. A wonderful piece of historic Olympic memorabilia, and a unique Judaica collectible."
