Imperial Kolodkas. - tshirtlarry - 11-08-2009 I have two Imperial Russian medals with these two suspensions. Anyone shed some light on them, just the hangers. Imperial Kolodkas. - Lapa - 11-08-2009 Larry, The second one looks like what it should be. The first one is very similar to the way the French wore their medals around WW1. Marc Imperial Kolodkas. - Nota Bene - 11-08-2009 The 2nd one could be a replica, need better pictures with the ribbon removed. Alexei Imperial Kolodkas. - tshirtlarry - 11-09-2009 Found this stamping when I removed the ribbon Translate the lettering on picture one please? Imperial Kolodkas. - Lapa - 11-09-2009 Larry, I like your suspension, except for what looks like a replaced pin. Marc Imperial Kolodkas. - Nota Bene - 11-11-2009 Yeah, it was the pin that didn't look right to me. Alexei Imperial Kolodkas. - deValcourt - 11-11-2009 Thank you guys. I have a reproduction suspension like this and what is most likely a copy of a Czarist MVD medal and from this thread I figured out how to get the ribbon on my suspension and just managed to put the medal on without breaking anything!:D I picked up the medal in Moscow, but I never took it seriously because it was so inexpensive (and I've polished it many times over the years, so I kind of hope it is a copy). Alexei, now all I need is the ribbon like the one in the picture (from M. Rogov's History of Awards and Insignia of Russian MVD, 1802 - 2002 ). You wouldn't know where a fellow might find one, do you?;) Phillip |
