Unknown cap - Ser-g - 08-12-2009 i have examples of both suvorov and flight academy hear at home of both soviet and Russian period ,, they are in most of there design the same. and are exactly the same on color. so i doubt this is a transitional cap for suvorov. i mean it may be tried out at schools and dropped , but it must have been in use than along side the well known caps of those schools. tell me if i'm wrong or missed a thing. ser-g Unknown cap - Esteban_cool - 08-12-2009 Ser-g Wrote:i have examples of both suvorov and flight academy hear at home of both soviet and Russian period ,, they are in most of there design the same. and are exactly the same on color. You may be right. Not transitional, but just not soviet period. Unknown cap - Commissar - 08-13-2009 So! I checked at under the red star. This gentleman has one of these caps and it is apparently a tropical service cadet cap, but these ones shown have the wrong cords and cockade, unless of course they are an officer/teacher for these cadets in a tropical climate? I am not sure about those regulations but it was considered for adoption just before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Under the Red Star - Air Force Caps Unknown cap - Tretov - 08-13-2009 I believe that these caps are unissued "tropical cadet" caps where clever persons have added cheap yellow cord and officers badge. To make this a good cap, change the cord to a plastic and switch the badge to EM. Unknown cap - MadZombieLenin - 08-24-2009 That's the site I used to ID them too. I won one of the red army cadet's caps (still haven't received it). Since none of them were issued anyway, a simple cockade and chinstrap fix makes a messed-up hat into a rather uncommon one! The fake yellow strap and officer's cockade were probably just put on blank surplus caps to make them look more impressive. Fortunately spare enlisted straps and cockades are easy to come across! Unknown cap - MadZombieLenin - 08-28-2009 As it should be. It's a good sense of completion! Unknown cap - Commissar - 08-28-2009 I ordered two caps actually, one red band and one blue band, I have yet to recieve it as well, but when I do I'm gonna have to look for a cap band and badges. Unknown cap - Ser-g - 08-28-2009 cool, i bought one of each type 2 weeks ago , they should arrive any moment. i must say i'm kinda excited with the prospect. Unknown cap - Ser-g - 09-03-2009 yahoo , i got the caps in. the blue banded is the one in the picture as shown before. the red banded is similar as the picture shown before but has a date of 92. all the buttons on these caps are 91. i'm now looking for the black EM cords. if any own happend to have some laing around ? Unknown cap - RichieC - 09-03-2009 I have quite a few extras... If you can not find one in Europe (less cost for shipping), I'd be more than happy to send you one. |
