Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - Nota Bene - 09-29-2004 Gents, I don't see any problems with the first document. Alexei Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - Lapa - 10-01-2004 Matteti, Thank you for the scans, I agree with Alexei. What really threw me off was the shade of the paper in your first scan. Marc Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - Soviet - 12-20-2005 Does it offen happen to find such alteration to a medal? Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - Laurent - 12-20-2005 It is fortunately not so common, but I've seen a few times this crude job on medals, especially campaign medals. Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - redmedals - 12-20-2005 Obviously a crude repair to hang the medal after the ring broke off. I have seen some like this too on other campaign medals. Just my few pence worth :-) Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - EricFG - 04-28-2006 Hello again, I've been perusing my documents of late and found a Leningrad document with a fully printed "1944" date on it. I've seen them with "1943", "194_" and "19__" but not this one. Mondvor doesn't show an example either. After doing a google search I *did* find an image of a "1944" document on a rather major dealer's website. Not that that means a great deal. But I was kind of hoping I had a one-in-a-million, unobserved variant that would have been worth a bazillion dollars. Oh well....:angerr Now at least I can frame this without having to worry too much. Medal "For The Defence Of Leningrad". - order of glory - 04-29-2006 Would one of you Soviet Union historians share some insight on the Soviet Seal with 11 ribbons. When did the last 4 or so republics join the union? LRE I answered my own question about the number of ribbons.
