Cap Badges - otlichnik - 02-04-2004 Eddie, There is no doubt that the flag changed, by official decree, in 1946. What I am saying is that nothing was actually changed until 1947 - the new general's buttons did not come out till 1947, new badges, etc. People often forget the delay in producing and issuing stuff after the change date. Shawn Cap Badges - Taz - 02-04-2004 Shawn, Yes no doubt about it, it must have been a logistical nightmare! Is this a variation of the USSR PCMC badge in Freds post? Eddie. Cap Badges - Nack - 09-11-2005 Quick questions: 1. Are these M35 officer cap stars? 2. When did the transition from 2-piece stars to 1-piece stars occur? 3. What is a fair price for one of these 2-piece stars? Thanks in advance. Cap Badges - DougD - 09-21-2005 1. the cap bagdes seem to me to be 1930's. Nice, heavy, 2 part. 2. the switch to the one part badges seems to have actually taken place during the war, so its common to see identical hats, but with the different cap badges. 3. value is tough; maybe $40? I might be high in my estimate, but good quality wartime items are so tough to find. doug Cap Badges - vvadim - 09-23-2005 T. Army personnel were continue to wearing them throughout the war, but manufacturing in most places stopped in 1941 even before outbreak of the war. Taz Wrote:In 1936-1946 the soviet state emblem had 11 ribbons (without estonian, latvian, lithuanian and moldavian) September 3 1940 secretariat of Supreme Soviet propose to change Soviet state seal according to the new number of republics in Soviet Union. But due to preparation of new constitution presidium of Supreme Soviet accepted new proposed state seal only on March 3 1941. Outbreak of the war postponed final decision until June 26 1946, when new official state seal was finally adopted. Manufacturing of small items with state seal with 11 ribbons on it (i.e. buttons, cockades buckles) continued into yearly 1950es. But despite official adaptation only in 1946 new state seal was in use even in 1940. This is a picture of November 7 1940 parade. As you can see state seal already had 16 republics ribbons on it. fred Wrote:Can you hep me Gentlemen. This is Model 1936 militia badge 36 mm, two piece build on the same star as Red Army model 1936 two piece star for the winter cloth helmet. This badge was replaced in 1939 by 42 mm badge. Cap Badges - Nack - 09-27-2005 I went and measured by cap badges and they are indeed 36 mm across. Just for clarification, what "winter cloth helmet" are we talking about--the "budenny" or "shlem" hat? Or are we talking about the ushanka (which I realize is more fur than cloth)? Thanks as always. So, I assume that placement of the word "intended" before the three classifications would be more befitting.
