I'll have a look at the threads and see what I can do, but I must say that there are very FEW official awards (as opposed to badges, distinctions, etc). Maybe we can make a separate thread with only the actual awards.

For whatever reason, it seems that Komsomol award documents are a bit tough to get. I'd say that this set could reasonably go between $5 and $10.

It's not very common. It was established in 1971 and awarded to "junior lieders" in live stock production.

This is about as old a thread as they get on this forum, but it has the content I was looking for.
I'm not an avid VLKSM award collector, but when I was rearranging my badges into more sensible groups, I discovered this one "for the development of new ("virgin") lands." I personally think it's a nice looking badge, probably 1950s with the Pobeda Factory screw plate and the quality enamels. In my opinion, these are often overlooked because we all know how cool agriculture is.:rolleyes:
I have a friend who is an "inactive" forum member who loves all things VLKSM. Maybe he'll start posting again with some of the interesting ones in his collection.:)
