Ebay jokes - Christophe - 05-18-2003 For sale on the web : "Russian McDonald’s Hamburger Restaurant “Medal” Approximately 2in x 2in, thin, light weight, gilt aluminum, red and blue enameled medal suspended from a red enameled pin back suspension device, bearing the Russian word “Mockba” (Moscow). Front depicts McDonalds “Golden Arches,” (in red enamel), when closely looked it appears to be a clown face. Tiny red star and hammer & sickle on lower front. Overall very Soviet looking. Produced in Russia, in the early 1990’s when McDonald’s was getting a foothold there. Maker marked on backside. Front has very light scratches from handling. A very unusual Russian souvenir. Excellent. $24.00" Bon appétit ! Ch. Ebay jokes - Nota Bene - 05-18-2003 Christophe, Thanks, I really needed a goood laugh today It's one of those that they make for tourists, same as MCLenin souvenirs. They cost only couple of cents in Moscow.Alexei Ebay jokes - Christophe - 05-25-2003 Seen on the Web (not e-Bay) : 250 Years of Leningrad becoming 50 Years of October Revolution !! Ch. Ebay jokes - HuliganRS - 05-28-2003 Seller Desc: You are bidding on what I believe to be a WWII Russian straw Hat that was purchased from an Estate Sale. Ebay jokes - yolkin - 05-28-2003 I am not sure whether they screwed up the hat or the badge?
Ebay jokes - vikingraider1 - 05-28-2003 That is truly funny...I know the secret now...just add a Soviet cap badge to anything I want to sell and hey pretsto it is Soviet ...now where is that old West Ham shirt...? Ebay jokes - Dave - 05-30-2003 It's not really funny, but it is on eBay, and is just sad... I sold a nice husband and wife award group not too long ago. It was small, but the awards were there. What was also nice was that a few of the jubilee medals were there, a picture of the happy couple, and the husband's Communist Party ID book. What's sick is that the seller split off the jubilee medals and their documents (as well as his Victory Over Germany medal with doc) and his Communist Party ID, and is selling that alone there on eBay! Maybe I'm nuts, but I HATE to see a group get split up like that. I've offered to repurchase the group from the guy, just so he keeps it all together, but haven't heard from him yet. I know that when someone purchases a group they can do whatever they please with it, but considering that the group has already been so far and is still together, it just doesn't make sense to split it up. I'm sure the next guy who owns the group would probably really like to have the jubilee medals with the orders. Oh well, just venting- thanks for listening! --Dave Ebay jokes - Nota Bene - 05-30-2003 Dave, I think I know this group, makes me real  Alexei Ebay jokes - Tal Inbar - 05-31-2003 "YOU YOU ARE BIDDING ON VERY VERY RARE RUSSIAN STALIN RED ARMY AWARD ZIPPO LIGHTER. THE LIGHTER IS BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED OR FIRED. THIS LIGHTER IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, IT IS EXTREMELY RARE." Believe it or not, there IS a stupid who is bidding on it for.... $62.49 (!!) and there are two more days! Hurry up.................:hurl Ebay jokes - Dave - 05-31-2003 As a resolution to my above story... The seller of the group on eBay and I corresponded, and he explained to me why he was doing what he was doing- he only collects orders and the group wasn't complete to begin with. That was understandable, but we had a good discussion and he agreed to keep everything together, more out of a favor to me than anything else. I appreciate him doing that, and respect him for that. Until next time... --Dave |
