This Virgin Lands medal came as part of a lot today. I did not see anything wrong with it when I bought it and I show it here just for show, and perhaps a bit of peace of mind.

I'm guessing this is the later of two variations. Naturally I would have prefered the first but I'm happy to have it. What's strange is, by precedent, this medal ranks after the Labor Vet's medal so therefore it sits nearly at the bottom of my labor display while it took me over ten years to buy.

Not sure, could be the quality of pictures. Here are my non-black soils and the oil industry for comparison.
When I was playing with lacquer I was also getting softness in features - could be that.

The pictures, as you can guess, are not up to par to be able to tell much about these two medals. Both seem to have a strange surface, and details seem mushy, although present.

Hiya Marc,
I really have no idea about the plating, wether it's just the scan or photo or what.
I'ts currently on offer so i don't have access to more photos unless i specifically ask for them. I thought it would be better to see what the experts think before going any further :)
