How To Store And Display Awards. - EricFG - 04-30-2006 First off, I had to work all weekend, which puts a damper on any plans for doing stuff. *But* I work all weekend as a matter of course so during the week I can "git r done", as they say. I should have Monday afternoon off, and all day Tuesday and Wednesday also. Although....I'm considering asking the hottie at work out to lunch after I get done on Monday....that might cut in to "medal time" a bit... ![]() That being said I'm still up in the air as to what exactly is going in those frames and how I'm gonna attach the background fabric to the back thingamajigee. Time will tell. Stay tuned....same SMAP time....same SMAP channel. NP: Venom - Cast In Stone:angerr I need to put a spacer on my screwback orders between the medal body and the backing board so the end of the screwpost does not stick out too far through the back of the board. Any suggestions? How To Store And Display Awards. - latinmajorac - 05-01-2006 ...for finals (all this week) i am here building my first display case of sorts. i went to hobby lobby and bought pine slats that are used to make frames, half a yard of red velvet, a art canvas, and some wood stain. i have taken the past hours to sand and shape the pine slats into something that fits together (damn mass production flaws :banghead). right now, the wood filler is drying, and i plan on working from there. it should be pretty cool. i will take pictures as it progresses, but i have a question. when i take a picture with my digital camera, it is mugh to large to post on the forum. how do it get it to be able to fit here? thanks everyone in advance! How To Store And Display Awards. - Nack - 05-01-2006 Open the photo in paint or another photo-editing program and crop & resize it. Or, if you are more tech savvy, you can adjust all kinds of parameters to get the size smaller. Do a search for photo editing terms the like and see what comes up--this has been discussed all over the place. How To Store And Display Awards. - latinmajorac - 05-01-2006 excellent! figured it out! thanks! anyways, here are some pics of the project so far this is the felt i am using for the background. i have yet to figure out how to shrink all of my pictures.. i will figure it out when the stain dries anyways, it is time to apply the stain. this is alot of fun. How To Store And Display Awards. - Nack - 05-02-2006 You have to find something to do besides study during finals week
How To Store And Display Awards. - latinmajorac - 05-02-2006 my dorm room smells like the first coat of wood stain, and my girlfriend is pissed that i spilt on the floor. but the project is nearly 75% complete! here are the updated pics How To Store And Display Awards. - EricFG - 05-02-2006 Cool!! It's project week here at the SMAP.
How To Store And Display Awards. - Riley1965 - 05-02-2006 Eric, I have used a small piece of foam. I push the screwpost through a hole I punched in the foam. It works. I have'nt had to do it since I started using the Instant shadow boxes from Michael's craft store. With them i just drill a hole, push the screwpost through and tighten with the screw back. Doc How To Store And Display Awards. - Nack - 05-02-2006 riley1965 Wrote:Eric, How do you hang the whole thing on the wall when its done then? Won't the screwplates on the back of the shadowbox keep it from hanging flat against the wall? (BTW, thanks for the heads up on the sale at Michaels :thumbsup --I went to the one here and bought 3 instant shadowboxes) How To Store And Display Awards. - Riley1965 - 05-02-2006 The back of the instant shadow boxes have to mounting rings. I use either picture hanging wire between the two mounts. That way it hangs a little loose from the wall. You're welcome for the Michael's tip. They are all I use. Especially when they have 30%-40% off most every week. Doc |
