Translation Help - Shocktrooper - 02-08-2011 1. # worker # laborer # employee 2. # brigadier # brigade leader 3. # master # foreman # expert Translation Help - matteti - 02-08-2011 Thanks Stocktrooper. I was not sure if there was a unique "correct" translation. It seems there are few possibilities. Translation Help - deValcourt - 02-09-2011 If I were choosing which definition I would use in English dealing with labor, I would go with - employee, team leader and supervisor (perhaps shift supervisor (maybe even "manager") depending on the work he did and where he worked). Phillip Translation Help - matteti - 02-12-2011 Thanks Philip. I like your suggestion. This was between his military service in 1926-28 and before he re-joined army full-time in 1935 until 1953. He was working in a Leningrad factory called Red Dawn (Krasnaya Zarya). Now, I need again some help about this officer... in the personal file, in the education section for military/political education, it mentions that he completed ВОШС in October 1950. Anyone has a clue what this course can be? At that time, he was Guards Lieutenant-Colonel, commander on a Communication Regiment if this can be of any help. Thanks for your help. :thumbsup Translation Help - matteti - 02-14-2011 Okay.. I found a bit more information... he would have tended that school from 1.12.49 to October 1950 and got the "xorosho" (4/5) grade. VOsHs is XXXXX Officer School of Communications. What is the first word? Thanks! Translation Help - UQWozza - 02-14-2011 Following the naming of other institutions I would go for Higher or Highest. I was working on this from the other end and had assumed that the abbreviation stood for Higher School for X Officers. The S had be stumped as I had forgotten about signals/communications. Simon Translation Help - deValcourt - 02-15-2011 I will go along with the "higher" officer school as well. Phillip Translation Help - Alfred - 02-26-2011 досрочно и качественно ппо и ппр своего заведования Hello, does anybody knows the meaning for the abreviation PPO and PPR ? in context to a navy submarines maschine room. thanks and best regards Andreas --------------------------------------------------- в период подготовки к походу проявил много старания и усили по приведению своего заведования в образцовое состояние. In preparation for the campaign he showed a lot of effort and amplifier to bring under his supervision in an exemplary state. Translation Help - desantnik - 02-26-2011 There are several possibilities, however PPO is probably "fire fighting equipment." PPR could be from context "transceiver station." Translation Help - Norm Braddock - 02-26-2011 Can someone (Patrick/Doug?) pls tell me what branch of service this fellow was? And can someone pls translate what is on the back? Thanks! |
