Translation Help - Al-muell - 06-06-2012 If You could post a bigger scan of the stamp, maybe something can be made out of it. But I would guess it has something to do with the post a man who signed it held. And it's Secr(etary) of the Kalininskiy(?) Rayispolkom, Tbilisi Translation Help - Auke - 06-06-2012 The stamp is in Georgian, but it will probably say the same as the Russian text, Executive Committee of the Kalinin Raion. Translation Help - Bill Garvy - 06-06-2012 Enlargement of stamp. . . Translation Help - Al-muell - 06-06-2012 Auke Wrote:The stamp is in Georgian, but it will probably say the same as the Russian text, Executive Committee of the Kalinin Raion. The stamp is bilingual, but still, the only thing I can make out of it is "Gruz." (Georgian) Translation Help - Bill Garvy - 06-06-2012 Thank you gentlemen for all your help! Translation Help - Andrej - 06-09-2012 Hi gents! does anyone help me with this unit abbreviation? I can read only "Komandir ..." and "Pol-k Aleksandrov...", but unfortunatly not the unit! Translation Help - CtahhR - 06-09-2012 Welcome to the show. 113 Rifle Regiment 103 Rifle Division. Translation Help - desantnik - 06-09-2012 CtahhR Wrote:Welcome to the show. Sure looks like it, but the 103 RD never had the 113 RR. Its second formation held the 393, 583, 688 RRs and 271 AR. Translation Help - CtahhR - 06-09-2012 I noticed that too... Has someone added a "1" too many to one of the numbers? If you put this person's name in podvignaroda.ru it may clear the waters. Translation Help - Andrej - 06-09-2012 thanks CtahhR and Desantnik! I've done a search on Podvignaroda and I've found a "старшина Киченок Гаврил Остапович" (this is the name and the rank) awarded with ORS (July '44) and OB (march '45). But he was a Starshina in a Machine Gun Motorized Battalion in the 219th Tank Brigade! Could be the same person? I don't know... |
