Patriotic War. - Chris - 12-14-2002 The number looks a bit strange, and the hammer and sickle is a bit bent, I think its ok however. Chris Patriotic War. - Nota Bene - 12-14-2002 Chris, It's perfectly genuine and it's not unusual to see those H&S bent like this. Alexei Patriotic War. - HuliganRS - 12-14-2002 What about the silver star on the back.. it looks like rust!?! Rusty. Patriotic War. - Nota Bene - 12-15-2002 Rusty, It's just the unusual color patina. They don't fake this variation, the gold is too expensive. Alexei Patriotic War. - JensF. - 02-16-2003 Hi guys! Any opinions on this Order of the Patriotic War 1. Cl.? Patriotic War. - JensF. - 02-16-2003 Second order: Patriotic War. - Chris - 02-16-2003 A Type 2 Var 1 and a Type 2 Var 2 (double lined mint mark). Regards Chris Patriotic War. - charlet - 02-16-2003 look like perfectly genuine...If you're a bit paranoid, weight them and check the gold, it must be 14k (583/1000): it must resist to acid for 10-12k and disapear for acid at 18k (I have the jeweler acid kit). Patriotic War. - Nota Bene - 02-17-2003 Majorpayne, They don't fake these variations yet, but I have seen one piece with gold "sunburst" replaced with brass replica. As Charlet said, yours are perfectly genuine. Alexei Patriotic War. - JensF. - 02-21-2003 I've got two informations regarding the material used for the 1985 issue. One source talks about silver-plated metal and the other of real silver (sterling). Are these really made from real silver/gold-plated silver (1st class)? Thanks for any replies! |
