Marc,

If I didn't know better, I'd say you were taunting us...;)

You know this is not my area and I don't have any reference material at hand now, but everything looks great - which is my only reservation. It is very "new" and in mint condition. So I have to wonder if it was just minted...:D

Marc,

Why do I get a feeling that I am back at college again, taking a test? :D I guess this happens when an expert like yourself is asking a question. :D

These are not easy to tell from scans because of the glare, that hides important details, so this is just an opinion based on the scans:

The dirt under the tractor's tires looks totally wrong to me; tractor grill looks wrong (space between the vertical "sticks" lokks flat); letters on the front are too widely spaced appart; no traces of frosting on the back, etc. I can go on and on. These problems may be real or perceived, but based on these pictures I would never buy this medal.

Soooo, did I pass or fail? :)

Alexei,

:winner :bigthumbsup

This one really got me confused. As you mentioned, there are quite a few "problems" (I'd add an extra one, which is the absence of ray at 12' above the star on the back), but the ring is so well made... I did not know they were able to make them so nicely.

Well, yet another authenticity checkpoint that vanishes

So this was a test after all ... Was there a cash prize? :D

I see - not "taunting" but testing...;)

That's one thing that struck me when comparing to the Mondvor example. But like AM mentions the glare makes it a bit hard to tell.
If it is a fake it's a damned good one.

First, greetings from Slovenia. I am a new member here and a beginner at collecting Russians. After a friends recommendation I joined your website and I can’t truly say enough about it. Guys, you are great…this much information is hard to find anywhere else.
I would like to ask you for some help about authenticity of these two beauties. I hope the photos are good enough. However if they turn out to be fake I won’t be that upset, because I got them at a really low price, so they will be a very nice substitute, until the originals replace them.
Cheers, Mirko
