hot weather service/field cap - clebercalado - 02-03-2005 I bought this hat, but I don´t have much reference about I read in the internet that it was used first by soviet troops in Sirya and afther that in Afghanistan... Coud anyone confirm this ? Thanks Cleber hot weather service/field cap - DougD - 02-13-2005 Its just a standard 1980's hot weather service/field cap. Used throughout the USSR, nothing special or odd about it ( i.e. had nothing to do with troops in Syria, though they might have had them too). DougD hot weather service/field cap - clebercalado - 02-13-2005 Thanks DougD They used wear this with low visibility badges ? Regards Cleber hot weather service/field cap - DougD - 02-13-2005 yes, though i suspect you would see both types of badges with it, the field badge would be better for it. DougD hot weather service/field cap - Al-muell - 03-31-2005 How many models of such caps existed? I have seen 3: with removable "mask", with "mask" attched (sewn) permanentlyand with "mask" removable from a neck cover that was attached permanently. All dated late 80.! Was this just a question of factory mistake or what? I couldn't find much reference on that. and btw. Didn't they use a bit lighter-coloured uniforms in Syria? |
