MVD awards -book - kameli - 05-14-2005 "History of awards and signs in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Rogov M.A. 2004 , 544. 240 x 300 mm. About 4500 color illustrations." I need more info about this book, please. MVD awards -book - k3rvmfusa - 05-21-2005 This is a nice reference work on almost any badge, medal or znachok ever associated with the MVD -- both USSR and Russian Federation. Includes a section on all the basic medals/orders of the USSR with some of the important cavaliers of the MVD, as well as a host of badges -- official and semi-official. MVD awards -book - dannybou - 09-04-2005 The book has arrived along with a few others on badges. This MVD book lists hundreds of badges. Very comprehensive. Over 500 pages. MVD awards -book - j h beers - 09-07-2005 While I was in Moscow last summer, I became aware of the fact that the MVD has seemingly switched its name to "FSB" - something that seems to have happened since 2002. As a result, very recent security service insignia are not shown in this book. Since most forum members are probably specializing in soviet era material, though, this should not be a problem for them... The book is an excellent reference and I'm glad that I own a copy. As alluded to earlier in this thread, one of the nicer aspects of this book is that it covers virtually any award from any quarter that a MVD man was liable to earn and wear. It even covers many of items that German collectors would call "Tinnies"! Jim |
