Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - latinmajorac - 02-15-2006 i have a naval peacoat for an enlisted man (waist length, 10 buttons) i am looking for rank boards to atytach to it. i am not sure how this works since i am new here, i am not even sure if i am describing the coat properly. and advice you could offer would be very appreciated Marc Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - Riley1965 - 02-16-2006 Could you post a picture of the uniform? I have several sets of shoulder boards, although limited in the naval boards. Regards, Doc Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - latinmajorac - 02-16-2006 i don't have pictures of my coat but i have this picture. it is for Sergeant Majors, Sergeants, Sailors and Cadets of the Navy. my jacket is winter everyday every one except naval infantry used this jacket. any help you an offer would be appreciated. the shoulders on my jacket have a thick band of fabric attached on the outside directly to the jacket and on the inside ( towards the neck) a single gold button holds the other end of the loop down. i think the proper board is going to be something that slides on that loop. but thanks so much for helping Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - Al-muell - 02-16-2006 Are You sure that Your jacket is a soviet one? Unless I am mistaken soviet navy never used this sort of shoulderboards. Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - latinmajorac - 02-19-2006 as far as i know. there is a russian military stamp on the inside. the buttons are stamped in russian, and i have seen it on numerous websites with shoulderboards indicating fleet designation and rank. thank you for all your help Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - Al-muell - 02-20-2006 What I meant is that this sort of soviet jacket had sewn-on and non-removable (at least without cutting the string) shoulderboards. What does the stamp say? And what is stamped on the buttons (esp. date)? Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - latinmajorac - 02-20-2006 the date stamp is 92, somethinng i have not noticed before. as for the stamp on the inside of the jacket, this is the best i can get ВЕЛККОЛУКИЙ ФИЛИДЛ (can’t tell this symbol)ЛШО 170 100-82 Apt. 4420 ТУ 17-06-381-90 ГОД ИЗГ 90 thanks for your help Marc Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - latinmajorac - 02-20-2006 as an interesting note, when i looked closer at the shoulder strap, i found a manilla colored string that has been cut and remains partially sewn in. perhaps the boards were removed in that case, how should i go about finding them? thanks alot Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - Riley1965 - 02-20-2006 Shoulder boards were paired up at manufacture and were then sewn together at the bottom of the shoulder board to keep the pair together. Your string may be just this. Doc Looking for Naval Shoulder Borads - latinmajorac - 02-20-2006 alright, is there any way of knowing what they looked like? if i knew that, i might be able to find them thsanks for your help guys (and gals?)
