Invalid Badge - scook17 - 10-23-2006 I was offered the enclosed badge for 130 Euros (about $170). It's, apparently, and "Excellent of co-operation of Invalids badge, about 1930-38". I've not been able to find it in my badge reference books. I think this is way too much to pay, as I'm unable to verify how 'rare' this badge actually is. Has anyone seen one before or knows a reference book it can be found in? Thanks. Kind Regards, Shane Cook. Invalid Badge - desantnik - 10-24-2006 Never seen anything like it. Try to get a picture of the reverse, but the white enamel just looks too white, crisp and pure for something seventy years old. Yes, I know there's a chip, but the color of the enamel spooks me. Invalid Badge - scook17 - 10-25-2006 I managed to get a scan of the back. Here it is. I can't make out if there is actually a serial number above the screw or not. Kind Regards, Shane Cook. Invalid Badge - desantnik - 10-26-2006 Don't know what to tell you. Patina/metal color looks a little strange, but that could be the scan. It would be more useful to see the reverse without a screwback plate to get some clues from how the screw is affixed to the base. No ideal. Invalid Badge - ericlida - 10-26-2006 Shane I also thought about this badge. I would agree with Paul - I don't like the enamel. It looks too new for this "old?" badge. Eric |
