Current uniforms? - willie777 - 03-09-2007 Can anybody help me find (any) info on the composition (authorized components, patches, etc.) of this uniform? Current uniforms? - January - 03-09-2007 It kind of reminds me of these M94 and M97 VDV uniforms. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any info on that one. Seems more recent than any of my references. Current uniforms? - willie777 - 03-09-2007 I forgot to mention that it is a picture of a MVD Spetsnaz unit in some sort of parade. Spetsnaz uniforms I think either ARE VDV uniforms, or are based on them. MVD Patch (cloth) - uniform (body armour, tactical assault vest)/back MVD Badge (metal) - beret MVD Badge (subdued metal) - patrol cap Russian Flag (cloth) - beret 2 Rank Tabs/Epaulettes (camouflaged cloth) - uniform/shoulders 2 MVD Emblems (subdued metal) - uniform/collar tabs Blood-type Patch (camouflaged cloth, rectangular) - uniform/left breast Spetsnaz Patch (camouflaged cloth, rectangular) - uniform/right breast MVD Spetsnaz Emblem Patch (camouflaged cloth) - uniform/right sleeve Russia MVD Patch (camouflaged cloth) - uniform/left sleeve MVD Spetsnaz Patch (cloth, round) - body armour/front Seems strange but the camo looks like the newer "Flora" BDU standard issue pattern as used most Russian Army regiments rather than a special MVD or para camo  saying that, for example Vityaz wear the regular uniforms of the Russian army with the MVD Internal Troops flag patch worn on the left sleeve. Also they sometimes wear MVD specific patterns that are disimilar to the VSR uniforms, Such as Tigerstripe and Partizan. "Flora" BDU Current uniforms? - willie777 - 03-19-2007 The captain appears to not be wearing the blood type patch on his left chest. Any idea to where he would be wearing it if he even is? Current uniforms? - Taz - 03-19-2007 Well if not on the uniform at all the Blood group will certainly be on his Dog Tags. Strictly speaking he should have one sewn on as do the others, it is standard to have it on all types of combat gear. Eddie. Current uniforms? - willie777 - 04-01-2007 Since the Russian uniforms have chest pockets, the academy badge is shown below worn on the pocket. Now, how would a russian guards badge be worn with an academy badge? Current uniforms? - Taz - 04-01-2007 On the same pocket in a straight line and to the right most likely. Eddie. To its own left, or the viewer's right Current uniforms? - willie777 - 04-02-2007 No, I meant Russian, not Soviet. I know the guards badge is to the viewer's left of the Academy badge. However Russian uniforms have pockets and the academy badge is centered on the pocket if worn alone. I was wondering if the academy badge would be moved left and the guards badge would be place to the right of it, or the guards badge would be mounted off the pocket. But Eddie answered that already. |
