I would really like your educated opinion's (guesses) on this. kind regards ser-g Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Tretov - 04-22-2008 The crown is huge, that is not necessarily bad, but it is often found on post-Soviet caps. Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Ser-g - 04-22-2008 I think it's not bigger than my other 80's caps. but maybe a slightly bit indeed ya. the thing is that it has 91 buttons but i always believed these cap's were passed out in 1980 ? Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Tretov - 04-22-2008 That is correct - I did not remember that, but looking at references, it is correct. Marc Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Ser-g - 04-22-2008 trevor reacted on my note that this kinda walking out cap was passed out in the 1980 regulations. he checked it and confirmed that. this came up because of the uttons being from 91 and the cap could not be from 80 or later as fare as the regulations go. so now the question is ,, is the rest of the cap real and if so than the buton's must be rong. Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Lapa - 04-22-2008 Serg, What regulations are you refering to? I have dated general's cap from 1984 and 1985 that are originals so ??? Marc Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Ser-g - 04-22-2008 i donno whitch regulations im not that known with that stuff, ít's just that on the under the red star site it say's "These light gray caps were worn with the matching gray uniform jacket until 1980, when the wave-green parade cap replaced it" Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Ser-g - 04-22-2008 also from the under the red star webpage About the 1988/9 regulations "Generals' caps were further standardized, with tank and artillery generals forced to trade in their black velvet banded ones for a "one fits all" red band (although lesser officers and enlisted retained their black bands). However, it does not appear this simplification of generals' caps was implemented before the collapse of the USSR. The 1980 uniform change that replaced the light gray dress cap with the regular wave-green parade cap was reiterated." It seems to be the cap was reintroduced by the 88/9 regulations and so it should any how be authentic, if the materials are right. Motorized rifle general parade cap up for your opinion - Tretov - 04-22-2008 Lapa Wrote:?!? What I meant was that the gray cap was no longer in use according to the regulations of 1988, the book that I have on hand. I was rather confused this afternoon, I got to blame it on the fact that we have had a carpenter here and the fumes from the new paint made me dizzy. The site "under the red star" states, as said, that these caps were no longer used after 1980, what happened in 1989 - I cannot tell. |
