Marshal Khorloghiyin Choibalsan - slava1stclass - 05-14-2008
To all:
While Mongolia is not my interest area, this image was much too nice to ignore. It was taken on July 15, 1948.
Regards,

Wow -- slick uniform!

Based on his awards, probably pre-1948, but a nice image anyway.

The parade tunic is superb...i was able to hold one (i think there were only 2) in Moscow back in 1998...though it lacked the boards, it was amazing. I was told that it was later lost in an apartment fire...a tragic loss.

I´m impressed. Very "overloaded"!
But of course, very nice. Thanks for sharing :thumbsup

Not quite the Choibalsan we're used to seeing. Thin and stylish.

And scenes from his funeral.

And, perhaps of interest to the denizens of the main forum, here he is "with friends".

While it does not live with me, it was offered to me (six figures in US$!!). (Sorry for the bad photo.)
