OPW 1st class group - Alfred - 01-07-2009 Dear members, what do you think about this group, especially about the entries in the award book. best regards Andreas OPW 1st class group - Alfred - 01-07-2009 more pictures and information: Red Star 464.501 Red Star 491.696 OGPW II 255.586 OGPW I 130.524 Red Banner 245.718 OPW 1st class group - Stahanov - 01-07-2009 The 15 years irreproachable service medal has the ribbon for the 10 year medal. See pictures below. OPW 1st class group - Lapa - 01-07-2009 Stahanov, I don't like the entries. Why would the ink have faded everywhere except on the serial numbers? Marc OPW 1st class group - Nota Bene - 01-08-2009 Andreas, Could you please also post the name page of the Order Booklet. Alexei OPW 1st class group - desantnik - 01-08-2009 I don't like the fact that the inks and handwriting are different for the awards above, then the dates below - not a deal killer, but wierd. Then, when I checked the numbers on my data base, the decorations were from different fronts - 1 Ukrainian (or 2 Baltic since the # is on an award bloc "seam"), 1 Belorussian, and 2 Belorussian. Three of the awards were awarded by the 2 Belorussian, so some of these could, actually belong to one person. As I've said before, this wide array of fronts is a possibility, but not a high probability of being awarded to one person. Finally, according to the booklet the recipient was earning awards in some capacity (soldier/officer?) as early as '43, then 15 years later in '58 he is still a captain. Not impossibile, but an awfully long time to only make it as high as captain. OPW 1st class group - Alfred - 01-08-2009 Thanks you very much for your answers. I try to get a picture of the first page with the name of the soldier. best regards Andreas OPW 1st class group - Alfred - 01-08-2009 Here is a picture of the first page of the award book with the name. OPW 1st class group - Lapa - 01-08-2009 Andreas (sorry for calling you Stahanov earlier), The front page further confirms my opinion :thumbsdown Marc OPW 1st class group - Alfred - 01-08-2009 Hi Marc, thanks for your oppinion. best regards Andreas |
