Anti-communist camo? - Panzerwerk - 06-30-2009 I bought this uni off of ebay , I have been told it is from an anti communist group , does anyone have any information about what group and why they would use a camo oversuit ? FYI , the guy that sold the suit did not mention anything to me about the insignia , nor did he mention anything in the auction about it , he only said it came from his fathers collection who had passed away and he was selling said collection off , so I dont think it was someone trying to fake it or I would think they would have played it up in the auction to get more money due to the rarity of the piece .
Anti-communist camo? - DougD - 06-30-2009 Hi and welcome to the forum..I am sure one of our members, probably from Russia, can help answer your question on this post-Soviet nationalist group. DougD Anti-communist camo? - desantnik - 07-01-2009 Well, I don't know how "anti-communist" it is - the lower date seems to be 1794-1945 and the communists were firmly in control 1918-1945... The top reads "Russian Empire" in old-style, pre-Revolution letters. The inverted tri-color chevron was a Russian Civil War chevron worn by anti-Red forces if memory serves me correctly. Anti-communist camo? - Commissar - 07-01-2009 Desantnik: You are absolutely correct about the chevrons. Those are the style worn by the counter-revolutionary forces fighting for the Tsar. :) Perhaps it is a very anti-communist dembel uniform? Anti-communist camo? - Ser-g - 07-01-2009 the uniform on its own aside from the badges, what is it? it looks like a digital kinda camo , witch only came in to use in the west the end of the 90's. so it would definitely be after soviet ain't it ? Anti-communist camo? - Panzerwerk - 07-01-2009 The Uniform is the standard 2 piece KLMK which was introduced around 1975, it is Soviet era , that is what makes this interesting , are and were these groups active in the 1980's and 90's ?? I was told the ultra nationalists would remove the date on purpose to show the Empire was still alive and well ! The date on the patch is machine cut , not hand removed , so the patch was made that way on purpose , the patch is of some kind of vinyl material , the chevron is cloth . See this link:kamouflage.net — 1944/45 3-colour deceptive camouflage pattern Anti-communist camo? - Panzerwerk - 07-01-2009 This pattern and cut was introduced around 1975 , I have a question for our Russian friends , Did these kind of groups gain in popularity or grow in numbers during the Afghan war ?? Anti-communist camo? - Ser-g - 07-01-2009 how cool ,, the western country's did really only catch up to this good digital camo in the beginning of 2000's. that is nearly 60 years later !!! How stunning. |
