Kashurets, Pavel Aleksandrovich, Civil War Veteran - medals73 - 11-03-2011
An interesting little pair.
-- Red Banner of Labor -- 274699 -- 1953
-- Medal for Valor -- unnumbered -- 1968
The interest (so says the researcher) comes from the valor medal, suggesting a Civil War veteran.
Sadly, the RBL is too late to hold much hope of research (for now?).

There is an awarding on 28.12.67 of awards to participants of the 1917 revolution, maybe this is linked? 50 year anniversary and all.
I can't read the writing on the RBoL doc, what month does it say??

"28 декабря 1967 г. Указ ПВС СССР Активных участников Великой Октябрьской социалистической революции и гражданской войны, наиболее отличившихся в борьбе за установление Советской власти в 1917-1922 гг., проживающих в Украинской ССР"
That would certainly point towards an old Ukrainian veteran.
RBOL is 04/11/1953

"December 28, 1967 Decree of the USSR Supreme Soviet Active participants of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the Civil War, the most distinguished in the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power in 1917-1922. Residing in the Ukrainian SSR"
Close enough?

Not bad for a computer! At least all the words are in a legible order for a change!
