Memorandum - desantnik - 01-04-2013

This is a memorandum for record that he could either produce to confirm identification or placed in his personnel record in the event of transfer to a new unit. Ultimately it would be compiled to reflect entire war service for pay benefits and/or provide a stipend to his family back home in the rear.

Memorandum - CtahhR - 01-04-2013

I've found these documents, which are usually overlooked, very helpful when trying to piece together a group's history. The quality and condition of them can vary immensely. Some of these issued when the Red Army was really in a bad way have stories to tell that later, often sterile award documents don't.
