National Flag Order 3rd Class. - DutchBoy - 02-17-2005
Various variations of Order of National Flag 3rd class....
A later screwback variation, with serial number.
A "mirror reverse" type variation, no serial number.
Another type of variation 1970s & 1980s.

Here is the National Flag Order 3rd Class Type 1 Variation 1. This Type was used in the serial range 0-36000. This particular Order is serial numbered between 200-250. This first variation is noticeable by the brass screwpost.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
This is the second variation of the first type. This variation has a broader silver screwpost. This particular Order is numbered in the 1000-1050 range.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
Here is the third variation. The metal content is different to the previous variation and it is also noticeable by a slight change in font on the groups "기" and "호". This Order is in the 26250-26299 range.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
Here is the National Flag Order 3rd Class Type 2 (The "Soviet Type") Variation 1. The "Soviet Type" were serial numbered sporadically between 1500-100000. This first variation can be noted by the large distance between the letter groups at either side on the serial number. This particular Order is numbered 1950-1999.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
This Type 2 Variation 2 is another Soviet produced piece. This variation can be noticed by the closer positioning of the character groups at either side of the serial number. This particular Order is numbered in the range 15000-15050.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
This third variation "Soviet Type" is noticeable by the angled character groups at either side of the serial number. This Order is numbered in the range 21350-21399.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
This fourth variation of the "Soviet Type" is noticeable by a slightly wandering first character grouping but also the hollowed area around the screwpost is more angled rather than rounded as on the previous three variations. This particular Order is serial numbered in the 31700-31750 range.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
This fifth variation of the "Soviet Type" is once again noticeable by the wandering characters and also has the angled recess around the screwpost. It is my belief that this particular variation of this Order was a special order of "higher quality" awards for non-Korean Allies from the Korean War as this variation is a Soviet made screwback with a serial number in a range about 50,000 higher than the change over from screwback to pinback. This particular Order is numbered in the 91200-91250 range and it is my belief that it was awarded to a Bulgarian (most likely Medical) for service in Korea during hostilities.
National Flag Order 3rd Class. - CtahhR - 09-06-2011
Here is the National Flag Order 3rd Class Type 3. This type is very similar to the first type however this type is of a different shape. This type is flatter with pointier rays and constructed of a copper-nickel alloy and have a rather elongated screwpost. These Types number in the range 35000-45000. This particular order number in the 36300-36350 range.
